2022 - November 3
Didomi continually releases updates to our platform to improve our capabilities and resolve issues. Please refer to the sections below for our latest releases:
Analytics
In order to improve the quality of the CMP Analytics, we deployed the following updates regarding the collection of the pageview data and the name of the CMP metrics and indicators.
Web data collection
Historically, data collection for web pop-in notices operated differently from other formats which created measurement discrepancies among the different formats and SDK types. It also prevented Didomi from providing a full view of the pageview activity (specifically pageview without consent).

Additionally, all notice formats for all environments used the same tracking protocol except for the web pop-in format.

In order to homogenize Didomi data collection, provide accurate traffic data, and deliver more robust metrics, Didomi is applying the standard tracking protocol to the web pop-in format.

This update will have the following impact on CMP analytics:
The total volume of pageviews: volume of no choice pageviews and therefore total volume of pageviews.
Pageview opt-in, opt-out, and no-choice rates: the volume of no-choice pageviews will increase, directly impacting all the rates (on the web environment). Pageview opt-in and opt-out rates are going to decrease a bit.
The no-choice pageviews rate could be negative for the data before November 3rd 2022 as the new web pop-in tracking has just been modified on this date.
Despite the update, the following aspects of your CMP analytics will remain the same:
The volume of positive consent pageviews because the calculation update will compensate for the tracking change.
The volume of denied consent pageviews because the calculation update will compensate for the tracking change.
Any data for the mobile, CTV, and AMP SDK.
Refer to the tabs below for how this change impacts data collection and your organization's experience of using Didomi CMP analytics:
Pageview indicator improvement
The status of the pageview changes when consent is collected. The pageview tag is triggered as soon as the SDK is loaded and can change to reflect a positive or negative consent.
To reflect this in the analytics we need to take into account the volume of positive consent and volume of negative consent to adjust the count of total positive or negative pageviews.

Indicator calculation
To be the most representative of the reality and to take into account that on the “first” (most of the time) page the final status of the pageview (opt-in or opt-out) is only definitive after end-user consent is given, Didomi will change the calculation of the following metrics:
Opt-in pageviews = opt-in pageview + positive consents
Opt-out pageviews = opt-out pageview + negative consents
No choice pageviews = no choice pageview - (positive consents + negative consents)
These changes will impact the following traffic indicators:
Pageview opt-in rate
Pageview opt-out rate
Pageview no choice rate
Analytics dashboards and exports
This update will be made inside CMP analytics dashboards. If your organization exports this data using the Analytics Export feature, the metrics can be calculated using the updated formula or the "standard" way.
Metric and indicator name changes
Didomi also updated metric and indicator names to improve comprehension and metric accuracy. These changes encompass common names, transparent terms, and homogenized meanings and calculations between notice and traffic scope indicators.
Historically, the consent rate metric was calculated on a different basis when the scope was the notice or the traffic.
In the traffic context, the no-choice pageviews were taken into account.
In the notice context, the bounces were not taken into account.
With this update, the opt-in rate is calculated on the same basis when in the notice scope or traffic scope.

Refer to the table below for the new naming conventions:

These updates do not impact Analytics export and no changes have been applied to the Didomi analytics database (no new columns and no new ways to calculate metrics). The updates are only applied to the CMP analytics dashboard.
