# Unmatched trackers

Unmatched trackers that are identified as belonging to a known vendor in the Didomi database will but is itself not in the tracker database will be added to the **Unmatched items** tab of your data manager. These trackers were discovered on domains that your organization control via the [tracker and vendor discovery](/tracker-and-vendor-discovery/tracker-and-vendor-discovery-domains.md) or the [Advanced Compliance Monitoring report](/advanced-compliance-monitoring-acm/acm-report-domains.md).
Before an unmatched tracker is added to your organization's tracker database, you will need to assign them a purpose(s). In this article, we will cover how to:

To start, click **Data Manager** on the left-hand panel and select the **Unmatched Items** tab on the subsequent page.
Ensure the **Unmatched Trackers** sub-tab is selected.

### Add unmatched tracker(s) to tracker database
The trackers on the subsequent list are all trackers that were discovered on your domains via the tracker and vendor discovery or Advanced Compliance Monitoring report that are identified as belonging to a known vendor but are not currently in your organization's tracker database.
In order to add an unmatched tracker to your tracker database, you will need to confirm and assign them a purpose.
Select one or more unmatched trackers on the list by clicking the checkbox to the left of the tracker name. Click **Configure** when finished.
Use the Configure tracker modal to select any purposes from the drop-down menu for which the tracker is used.

**Note**: If no purpose is selected from the drop-down menu then the tracker(s) will inherit the purposes from the vendor.

Click **Accept and Create** when finished.
### Add unmatched trackers to tracker database via regex
A regular expression (regex) is a sequence of characters that specifies a search pattern for a given string. The search pattern can include numbers, letters, space and special characters. Using regex your organization can add unmatched trackers to your tracker database for a specific vendor that fit a certain pattern.
In order to add an unmatched tracker to your tracker database via regex, select two or more unmatched trackers on the list by clicking the checkbox to the left of the tracker name.

In order to utilize regex, the selected trackers must all belong to the same vendor.

Click **Configure** when finished.
Use the Configure tracker modal to select any purposes from the drop-down menu for which the trackers are used.

**Note**: If no purpose is selected from the drop-down menu then the trackers will inherit the purposes from the vendor.

Navigate to the **Regex pattern** field and input the regular expression that will be used to specify the search for trackers that match the pattern. Alternatively, click **Suggest and automatically fill the pattern** and Didomi will utilize the selected trackers to generate a regular expression for your organization.
Click **Accept and Create** when finished.
